MOST PERFECT, MOST WHITE, MOST VEINED, MOST DESIRED, AND MOST NOBLE...
LET'S SEE TOGETHER WHY THESE ADJECTIVES CAME TO MY MIND AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS COMMENTARY:

Well, here the answer is easy, rarely can one encounter a fireplace from the other century in such immaculate condition
MOST WHITE, MOST VEINED, AND MOST DESIRED.
I can give a unique answer to these three situations. And I can do so through a question: Which of the Carrara Whites is the most sought after in a fireplace by women and architects in general? But of course the Calacatta... And this is because its texture is the same (very white, “warm” or milky as it is) as the Statuario Carrara Carrara marble while its veins/clusters are NEVER just black or gray, but also light and very fine reddish and sulfurous veins, moreover with fascinating “orange” reflections.....
NOBLE.
And here we return to the marble of this fireplace, Calacatta, quarry of Serravezza. Said marble had (and still has ..) much higher costs than the “normal” White Carrara, so much so that it was used mainly if not exclusively for fireplaces of greater decorative load, for example .. for the “representative” fireplace, the one in the living room in short, and not for the one in the bedroom or sitting room as our Pompadour Galbé was considered to be.. The adjective NOBLE, then, certainly deserves the marble of our fireplace, since its quarry (Serravezza) was owned by the very noble Medici family, the most Art-loving among the Florentine families.
AND THEN, MAURIZIO (that's my talking cricket vocalizing shrilly...) HOW COME YOU'RE SELLING IT AT MORE OR LESS THE SAME PRICE AS OTHER GALBE' POMPADOUR IN “NORMAL” CARRARA WHITE!?
Damn you who never shut up, I have to confess a secret....
You must know that this specific fireplace was purchased by us (it was a renovation in rue Ordener, at the foot of Montmartre) in “block” with 5 or 6 other similar fireplaces, all in marbles belonging to the Carrara family... The price was set “one for the other,” and I am sure that the “Masson” who sold them to me did not realize the particular quality of this specific mantel.... Perhaps he was in a hurry to cash in and load up, the fact is that I bought this fireplace at the price of his... “normal” colleagues...
And while usually a Pompadour fireplace in Calacatta marble we offer it at figures a little higher than the price you see published here, this time I decided, as indeed I practically always do in such cases, to “turn over” to my client the fine economic opportunity I myself took advantage of...
And we don't do this out of generosity, it's not like we are Santa Claus, we do it simply because, while our earnings remain the same, we certainly please the client who is the most attentive and quickest to seize this little bargain
