IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THIS MODEL OF FIREPLACE BUT LOOKING FOR DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS
You should know that — fortunately for us — over the past few months, partly due to a series of building renovation incentives here in Italy, we have been selling fireplaces faster than we are able to source and restore them.
As a result, many sold pieces are not immediately replaced with new listings.
All this simply to say that, should you be looking for a Pompadour Plat fireplace in dimensions different from this particular example, we currently have several Pompadour Plat fireplaces in stock — similar in style and price to the present one — ranging from 93 cm to 130 cm in width.
Just get in touch and we will be happy to help find the most suitable piece for your interior.
Now then… if the gentleman or lady reading this happens to possess the legendary bargaining instincts of a true Genoese, I shall introduce my secret weapon: the Piattino.
This affectionate nickname is commonly used among dealers for the “Pompadour Plat”, arguably the simplest Louis XV fireplace model produced during the nineteenth century — and therefore historically among the more accessible.
One may still encounter these fireplaces in countless Parisian apartments and hotel rooms and, thanks to the relatively large number that survive, unless particularly rare marble colours are involved, they may still be acquired at the rather tempting figure displayed above.
And yet, despite its simplicity, it remains charming and highly decorative — particularly in this smaller format, perfectly suited even to today’s increasingly compact interiors.
