I think I have NEVER been so embarrassed in front of the blank page of my computer (Antique Louis XV marble mantels) on which I should write the commentary of this incredible as extraordinary (i.e. out of the ordinary) fireplace...
NEVER HAD IT BEEN SEEN (OR EVEN IMAGINED) THAT A STRICTLY LOUIS XVI FIREPLACE EXISTEDAS SHOULD BE OURS THAT I AM PRESENTING HERE, DRESSED IN A BLACK MARBLE !!!
It had an effect on me when I first saw it, a strange effect, neither positive nor negative, I simply I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON ...
Besides, what do you want, to me my fireplaces are all my children, at the end of the day, I love them as much as anyone else.... Not only that, I'm realizing that (I'm going to see it every day) slowly I'm appreciating it for this happy strangeness of it, for its elegant originality, for being, after all, THE FIRST AND MAYBE THE ONLY “DEUX ROSES” fireplace DRESSED IN BLACK. And besides, today BLACK is now the most coveted of colors in the fireplace world, certainly the most “a la page,” so I am sure that this son of mine will also find his way and a beautiful room in which to live for his own and others' pleasure.
Its white friezes seem to be painted, so right, elegant and not at all intrusive, its physical structure is powerful, made of marble slabs of good thickness, its pair of roses carved on each side of the front is of very fine quality, too bad that it can only be enjoyed in person because through a phone or computer screen certain details are not highlighted...
