AMOROUS FRAGRANT PREMISE: “JASMINE” IN FRENCH MEANS “JASMINE BLOSSOM.” This flower is by many peoples generically considered a symbol of Love but, going down to the more “intimate” details, also a symbol of Beauty, Purity and Sensuality.. All thanks to its fantastic scent, which is still the “body” of many high-end perfumes and stellar prices.. I did a brief search and in a few seconds found that brands such as Gucci, Chanel and Armani produce perfumes precisely based on our... JASMINE !!!
This fireplace is part of the most numerous stylistic family in the world, that of the “Pompadour” fireplaces...Yet it is also a fireplace that is not only original, but even made in a single mantel, what insiders call a“unique piece”, a mantel that appears much more important than its brethren. And how does one explain such a difference?
Well, even in the largest families it can happen that a great artist is born, Luciano Pavarotti, for example, was born into a family of workers and laborers, he too was a “unique piece”... These are the combinations of Fortune, the classic case of “ONE IN A THOUSAND MAKES IT.”

They came from Pyrenean Spain and served as servants to the inhabitants of wealthy Provence.. Among these servants, there was one in which these Illegals excelled and that was sculpture.. So this fireplace was carved by a Basque sculptor... But.
C) BUT... WHAT...?! Eh ... There is one thing I should tell you, but I feel like I'm offending that Basque sculptor, perhaps a wretch who worked all season (from spring to fall) outdoors (whether it was sun or water, these workers had no roof under which to defend themselves, their employers kept them always and only outdoors with the excuse that, outdoors, they would not get sick with Silicosis (a disease due to inhalation of marble dust. However, I cannot lie to my clients either, and, albeit reluctantly, I must tell you that our illegal Basque, although a decent sculptor, would never have been able to make that sculptural Fineness of the sunflower flower in the center of the front, that was made in a sculpture workshop on the slopes of the very Italian Apuan Alps, in Lunigiana and then applied to the center of the front with iron and plaster.
WE CAN THEREFORE SAY THAT THE MANTELPIECE WE ARE PRESENTING TO YOU CAME INTO BEING THANKS TO THE COMBINATION OF THREE ENTITIES: THE SKILL AND IMAGINATION OF THE ARCHITECT FROM SAINT TROPEZ, THE SKILL OF THE ILLEGAL BASQUE WHO CLIMBED OVER THE PYRENEES TO CARVE IT, AND, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE UNSURPASSED SCULPTURAL QUALITY AND FINESSE OF A MASTER FROM LUNIGIANA.
ITS AGE IS DATABLE TO THE BELLE EPOQUE (LATE 1800s, EARLY 1900s), ITS CONSERVATION UNEXCEPTABLE, ITS PRICE A LITTLE TOO LOW..(“Enrico”- is my son -“isn't it that you made a mistake and priced this very nice fireplace a thousand or two thousand euros less than it is actually worth?!”).
