An Italian fireplace at last!
One? No, they are two, the perfect pair..
This one in the photo is the one of the two in better condition and has been restored by the person who sold it to me; the other one, available in storage, is still in the found state.
It is so hard to find authentic Italian fireplaces and now we have even found two! I wish I could find the customer willing (but these are things of other times and other..environments...) to buy them to contrast them, one with the other, in the same hall...
We are around 1860, we are in Lombardo Veneto, we are in front of a vintage Italian Luigi Filippo built in Botticino marble, with an exceptionally homogeneous color tone, a sign of a careful choice of the blocks to be carved...
The price of this mantel? Ridiculous, read it above and you will agree with me.
