IMPORTANT ANTIQUE ART DECO FIREPLACE IN BROCCATELLO MARBLE (ANCIENT QUARRY LOCATED IN THE FRANCO-SWISS GRAND JURA AND EXHAUSTED FOR SEVERAL DECADES), PERFECT PRESERVATION, PROVENANCE PARIS.
Granted that this very precious marble had layers that were more yellow and others more “burgundy” in color, it is interesting to see here how the architect who conceived this fireplace decided to use the richest slabs of yellow tones for the external part while for the frame that frames the fire he selected slabs of the same marble, but with more “purple” or at least darker tones... A refinement all...parisienne...
The fireplace is also accompanied by the original floorplate that see in the picture.
Unfortunately, our pictures do not render half of the beauty of its marble surfaces, so I invite anyone who might be interested in this Deco' fireplace to take a stroll up to our little village in the lower Emilian region to admire (and be surprised by) it in person.
