LOOK AT THE PHOTO AT THE TOP RIGHT: CAN YOU SEE THAT LITTLE ELF HIDING AMONG THE LEAVES AND FLOWERS?
His presence certainly has a meaning — it’s up to you to discover it.
A TORCH (PASSION) AND A SCEPTER (POWER), ALL SURROUNDED BY A RICH FLORAL ENSEMBLE.
The casting is spectacular — in the truest sense of the word — thanks to the strong protrusion of its figures, clear evidence of the artisan skills of the foundry artist.
Everything is in perfect condition.
This cast iron insert is suitable exclusively for Neoclassical fireplace mantels.
Date: Second half of the 19th century | Origin: Paris
P.S.: Please forgive the photos — whoever took them clearly didn’t know what they were doing.
NOTES ON THE RESTORATION OF THIS CAST IRON INSERT OR FIREPLACE:
This insert will be restored — the operation is included in the listed price — according to the client’s preferences in one of the following ways:
-
Manually cleaned, if the surface conditions allow it.
-
Stripped manually using a chemical paint remover, for more stubborn cases.
-
Finished with graphite waxing, as was done in the past, or — as increasingly requested by modern clients — painted with semi-gloss black or matte gunmetal grey heat-resistant paint (up to 800°C).
Once stripped and waxed or painted, the artistic details of its surface will emerge in their full clarity — and your fireplace will reach the peak of its beauty.
